By the time you see the sign, you’re probably already pretty wet. I can imagine someone going up to the sign and saying “hey it’s not wet, why is that sign here…. ARGHHHH WTF!!!” … as the water gushes out.

I can just imagine how a weather forecaster would announce this. Today is slightly cloudy, with a chance of people falling from the sky.

While the Chinese wording clearly warns people not to run into the wooden pillar, the English translation says otherwise. Apparently this started as a prank by the local Chinese students, who told English speaking foreigners that it was tradition and good luck to ram your head against the sacred wooden pillar. Now every year, tens of thousands of visitors arrive at this small village to get their blessings.

Japanese are admirable for their beautiful and poetic artwork. Apparently even their No Trespassing Signs are done in various forms of Haiku.
